Application instructions for Plastic Filler
Applications:
Car bumpers, and plastics in interiors of cars, boats, RV’s, computers,
photocopying machines, etc. that have been damaged or cracked, children’s toys, including industrial applications such as PVC windows, doors, fences, plastic furniture, garden furniture etc. and many other applications
Application Procedure:
Make sure area to be repaired is clean, dry and rough. Make a small V incision
on area to be repaired so as to give the area being repaired some depth and
volume so Alsiplast can bond easily. For areas that are cracked squeeze out
some Alsifort before applying Alsiplast from tube and apply between cracks and press together tight for about 30 minutes
Mix contents of Alsiplast can thoroughly. Take out a little Alsiplast from can and place it on your clean work mat (clean smooth flat metal surface or other clean flat mixing surface).
Add approximately 2 % to 3 % hardener to the contents outside the can and
mix thoroughly. Apply in layers over area that is to be repaired. If you find
that it is taking too long for Alsiplast to harden you can add some more
hardener the next time as this will speed up the hardening process. Normally
Alsiplast takes 40 to 45 minutes to harden after which it can be sanded.
Notes:
Alsiplast starts to harden very quickly (3 to 4 minutes) so mix small
quantities at a time.
Do not heat bumpers before or after applying Alsiplast and this will cause it
to become brittle and cause spider webs. Just clean and sand thoroughly before applying Alsiplast. Do not wipe clean Bumpers with lacquer thinner before applying Alsiplast etc., as this will cause poor adhesion of Alsiplast to the substrate.
Please do not insert mixing paddle or stick into Alsiplast can after you have
used it to mix it with the hardener. This will contaminate and harden the
contents in the can and make it unusable for future use.
